How long will this offer last and will the price change?
We will continue your hosting free of charge or at our discounted price as long as you keep your domain name registered with us, and you continue to meet the eligibility criteria. However, all paid plans are subject to price changes as a result of increased costs or inflation.
Will I get the usual Hipposerve support?
Of course. You will be able to contact us via our 24/7 Customer Support Desk at https://help.hipposerve.co.uk or via our 24/7 Customer Support Email at [email protected].
I already have a site, can I move it to you?
Yes, we will provide a free migration service, from your existing host to Hipposerve.
Can you build our web site for us too?
All plans include a Free Drag ‘n Drop website builder, or if you prefer a One Click WordPress installation. However, if you are looking for a website to be designed, get in touch, and we will put you in touch with our team of website designers.
Do I have to transfer my domain name to you?
Yes, this is a requirement for the free or discounted hosting. We can assist you with the transfer.
How long does it take to set up an account?
Unlike our standard plans, these are set up manually as we need to check that a charity is genuine. Once we are satisfied that you qualify, we can usually set up within a few hours. Transferring a site takes a bit longer, but can be typically completed within 72 hours.
Can I promote this service?
Please do! We want to be able to help as many charities as possible. You can help my mentioning us in a blog post or giving us a shout out on social media!
Are all charities accepted?
We reserve the right to refuse a charity without reason for the free or discounted charity website programme. However, there is nothing stopping someone who is refused, paying for one of our standard hosting plans.

Free Charity Hosting – Eligibility and Terms.
Free Charity Hosting.
It is important to us that we only provide this free / heavily discounted hosting opportunity to genuine charities. In all cases, you must be a registered UK charity and listed on the UK Charity Commissions Website.
As part of the order process, you will be asked to provide your full registered charity name and registration number. You will also be asked to provide a brief outline of the work you do.
Our main criteria for eligibility are as follows:
- The work and projects completed by the charity are of interest to us and the charity is genuine in its mission to help others and does not have sinister intent, such as extreme political leanings, or religious teachings.
- Payment of staff working for the charity is not excessive and money raised is not spent frivolously.
- There is documented evidence of the work that the charity does, and you are happy to share this with us from time to time, so we can use it in our blog to a) promote the scheme and b) to promote your charity.
- You agree to purchase, or transfer, a domain name to us for use with this service.
- A valid payment method is kept on your account, even if you are using a free account. This enables us to combat fraudulent use of our services.
The free hosting is only suitable for small and new charities. The purpose of this offer is to help small charities promote their work and to provide online fund-raising opportunities. Should the traffic to your website increase to a level where it could affect other users of our services, you will be invited to transfer your service, to one of our paid charity options which have up to a 60% discount.
All Charity Websites must abide by our standard terms and conditions and acceptable use policy, which can be found in the terms and conditions section of our website.
Important Note: It is a requirement for our free charity hosting / email accounts to have a valid domain name that resolves to the website or email address. You will be notified at least 14 days before the expiry date and payment will be taken automatically. Should we be unable to take payment, you will be notified to complete this manually. If we are unable to take payment before the expiry date, the domain will expire. Should this domain name expire, the web page or associated email services will no longer work. After 30 days, the domain will be released to the public by the Domain Naming Authority. Hipposerve has no control over this and is not liable for any losses caused, or should someone else purchase the name. If there is no active domain on your account for 90 days, Hipposerve reserves the right to remove your Web Hosting Account. This includes all associated data, emails and DNS records from our servers. We will not retain a backup of your data and have no obligation to provide you with a copy. Any outstanding payments owing to us will be referred to a debt collection agency, as per our Charging Terms and Conditions.
