Introduction #

Many Hippo Pro Email users like to use their email accounts directly on their mobile phone. Our email service uses standard IMAP, SMTP and POP protocols, so they are compatible with all mobile devices. This knowledge base article explains the settings you need to set up your emails on an Android phone.

• Important Note: We recommend that you use  IMAP rather than POP for your incoming server. It is a protocol made to support several devices accessing one same account, with all folders synced at our server. We are also unable to guarantee that our backups will work correctly, if you use a pop account.
• The Android operating system makes changes to their settings from time to time. Hipposerve accept no responsibility for incorrect information shown.

On Your Phone #

• Open Settings on your device > navigate to Accounts > scroll down and tap on Add Accounts > from the list of all possible applications, choose to add an IMAP account to your default mail application.

Incoming Email Setup #

• Type in the email address of your POP/IMAP mailbox and tap Next.
• Type in the password of your POP/IMAP mailbox.
• On the next screen, when prompted for Incoming server settings, type in the following settings:

Username: Your full email address
Password: Your email Password
Server: imap.emailarray.com

• If prompted for Port and Security type, use the following settings:
  • Port: 993 for IMAP
  • Security type: SSL (Accept All Certificates)
• Click on Next

Outgoing Email Setup #

Make sure Require sign-in is on

Username: Your full email address
Password: Your email Password
Server: smtp.emailarray.com

• If prompted for Port and Security type, use the following settings:
  • Port: 465 for SMTP
  • Security type: TLS (Accept All Certificates)
• Click on Next

Configure additional options. #

• On the next screen, specify the Account Name (optional) and Display Name.
• Tap Next.

Summary #

If the settings you entered are correct, this email account will be added to your android phone and accessible through the mail app. You will receive notifications when you receive a new email, directly on your phone.
