What's the difference between Hippo Web Builder and your other hosting
The hosting uses exactly the same fast and robust infrastructure as our standard hosting. There is nothing different about it. The Hippo Builder is included for free on all of our hosting platforms. You can decide if you wish to use it or not.
What's the difference between Hippo Web Builder and WordPress?
WordPress is a developer standard web building application that can produce some amazing websites, but it has quite a large learning curve. Hippo Web Builder allows you to get a great looking website online quickly with no prior experience.
Do I need a domain name?
Yes, all websites require a domain name so people can find them. However, we offer a free domain name for 1 year (subject to a 2 year purchase), so there is really no excuse not to get online!
I already have a domain name, can I use this on this service?
Of course! You can either transfer the domain name to us or change your nameservers so that it points to Hipposerve. If you get stuck, our Hippo Helper team will be on hand to guide you through the process.
Can I upgrade a package, if I outgrow it?
Yes, Hippo Builder is designed to grow with you. It can be upgraded from your Hippo Customer Portal, in just a couple of clicks!
Can I downgrade a package, if I am not using all the facilities?
It is possible to downgrade all Hippo Builder plans. However, if you have purchased a 1 or 3 year discounted plans we will be unable to refund the difference and the price will be updated at the start of the next billing cycle. See our terms and conditions for further details. You are also unable to downgrade back to the Free Trial.
How long does it take to set up an account?
Your hosting and Hippo Builder account will be set up as soon as the first payment is received. You will be able to start creating within a few minutes!
Is my account backed up?
Whilst we backup our servers in the event of catastrophic failure, we do not provide these to customers to restore their services as a result of individual account failures.
A free basic backup service is also provided on all hosting plans, except Hippo Value.
We would always recommend that customers purchase one of our hippo care plans to ensure full site redundancy.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, direct debit, PayPal and more than 50 different types of cryptocurrency.
We are also able to accept BACS payments by arrangement for annual or 3 yearly billing cycles only.
Can I have additional domains pointed at my account?
Yes, we actually recommend it. The more versions of your business name that you have parked or being used as an alias, the less chance there is of someone else using that name and passing themselves off as you.
All our packaged allow multiple domain name parking and our technical team will help you set it up.
Can I run an ecommerce site?
The website builder does not include ecommerce facilities. In our experience, it is far better to build an Ecommerce site using more dedicated e-commerce platforms, such as WordPress with Woo-Commerce, or PrestaShop. Both of which can be installed on Hippo Hosting plans.
